Today was a very good day indeed with a long awaited new PR on deadlifts. This is actually a pretty good example of how we can use “pyramid sets” to work up to a new best lift. You can see I go heavier for a few less reps, then heavier still for a couple less reps again, and so on.
Fortunately I train at a hardcore gym where no one gives a crap if you yell and grunt and bang the weights around. It is quite an empowering feeling to impose your will over the force of gravity and feel the ground shake under your feet! I would recommend it to anyone.
A bunch of extra stuff too for my traps, rear delts and biceps which I’m trying to over develop this season!
