This is one of those questions that comes up a lot, so why I don’t I go ahead and tell you what I think?
Quite often women will complain that their arms are a bit soft looking, a bit flabby or wobbly, and they want to tone them up a bit. Often too, equipment is an issue if they don’t have a gym membership or their own weights.
So what are the best exercise to target problem arms?
That was a trick question! We can’t “spot reduce” fat from a chosen area, but we can firm up those muscles while encouraging over-all fat loss. Rather than doing this with isolation exercises specifically targeting the biceps and triceps muscles in the arms, we will actually get better results with movements that target the larger, major muscle groups while also recruiting the arm muscles.
My pick for best exercise when access to equipment is an issue?
Hanging Inverted Rows.
Here are a couple of animations of me demonstrating some different versions.
In my opinion, for great arms; train your back.
